Château de Valois was part of Château Figeac in the 1800. It has been bought by Frederic Leydet’s ancestors after the split, in 1862. Since then, the Château has offered a rare example of family-run estate, seeking to ensure the wine represents the terroirs of the area. Frederic, with the help of his father Bernard, practices sustainable farming and organic guidelines as much as possible to avoid in general chemical treatments. He never forgets that when it comes down to it, wine is made from grapes and all the rest is just there to enhance this basic ingredient.
