Producer
Deltetto
It was on the 8th September 1999 (two days after Decorum first started trading) that we raised, and sent, a purchase order to Deltetto. We hadn’t even met Antonio Deltetto, we just thought the wines were excellent. And here we are all these years later (and don’t worry, we DID meet very soon afterwards), still trading.
Next door to the rolling hills of Barolo and Barbaresco lies the area of Roero: maybe not quite as glamorous as its two more famous neighbours, but the winemaking life is very much the same. The main town is Canale, and it was here, back in 1953, that the Deltetto winery was established. Now, go into any bar in the region, and the chances are that if you ask for a glass of sparkling wine, the Deltetto ‘metodo classico’ will be served (huge local and domestic demand). But the still wines are every bit as revered, and with Antonio’s son Carlo now running the show, all production since 2017 has been organic.
